The achievement of goals can be a significant moment for any child/teenager. Achieving success at any capacity during childhood instills lifelong lessons of hard work and goal-oriented decisions. However\, the process of achieving goals is where misconstrued concepts of perfectionism can seep in and detrimentally affect a child’s mental health. The purpose of this workshop is to define perfectionism through a child/adolescent lens\, to examine where these belief systems originate\, and to observe the various ways these concepts manifest themselves. \nThis Workshop will focus on three main areas of influence on a child/teenager: \n1. Social: peers\, teachers\, coaches\, etc. \n2. Family: parents\, siblings\, extended family \n3. Personal: individual thoughts and feelings \nHow to join the Zoom Program: \nUpon registration for this program\, you will receive two emails: \n\nOne email from Eventbrite: you can either disregard this email or save it for your records. No action needed with this message.\nOne email from the Center for Health & Wellbeing: this email will contain your link to join the Zoom meeting. This experience impacted his connections with the community and his time spent working with student-athletes and their families through the recruitment process. The mental health of student-athletes is becoming a highly discussed topic as it is impacted by everyone and everything around them with an expectation to be “perfect”. Stephen works with clients to identify their core beliefs and recognize the connection between these and their behaviors. They can be very therapeutic because you are literally bathed in sound waves\, where you will enter a state of deep relaxation. Sound baths help facilitate shifts in our brainwaves by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwaves can attune to. By listening to the rhythm and frequencies of the crystal bowls\, we can downshift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) where profound learning\, healing and growth can occur. \nThis sound healing experience is designed to clear and release negative energy\, open your heart\, and promote a quieter state of mind. The harmonious sounds are created to support your body’s natural healing processes while you recline on blankets and pillows. After the session\, you’ll leave feeling mentally and physically rested\, ready to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a healthy mind\, body and spirit. \nSpecial Instructions: Attendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. Simply select the link and the Zoom Meeting will launch. Please allow yourself five – 10 minutes before program start to launch Zoom and confirm your technology is properly working.\n\nFor troubleshooting and other Zoom-related questions\, please email us at programs@yourhealthandwellbeing.org \nAbout the Presenters \nThis program will be presented by students enrolled in the Marriage\, Couple\, and Family Counseling track in Counselor Education at Stetson University in DeLand. These students are focused on learning about how significant relationships influence individual experiences and directly and indirectly affect our well-being throughout life. This program will be offered under the guidance of their professor\, Jacqui Williams\, Ph.D.\, LMFT\, Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Counselor Education. Bruce Cameron for an in-person book signing on his latest book\, Love\, Clancy. \nWe’re also thrilled to welcome an extra special guest to this event — one of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9s! You’ll learn about a unique partnership between the Senior Resource Alliance and the OCSO to distribute Scent Evidence K-9 scent collection kits to the community for the elderly or children who may wander. We’ll be giving away these kits at the event\, and you’ll learn more about this life-saving program. \nThe event will be hosted by Amy Sweezey\, a familiar face to Central Florida TV viewers. After leaving full-time TV news in 2020\, she launched a career as a children’s book author\, public speaker and freelance TV reporter. \nTo register for this program\, please click here >>>\nIf you cannot attend the event but would like a signed copy\, please follow the link here\, and add in the notes you would like a signed copy. \nAbout LOVE\, CLANCY \nYou’ve probably never met someone like Clancy. He’s keeping a diary\, he’s falling in love\, there are rivals for his affections\, he lives with his best friend and his worst enemy – even taken together\, these factors are maybe not that unusual\, except that Clancy is a dog. His point of view is therefore perhaps…different. Told in Cameron’s signature style\, a tremendous cast of wonderful characters find themselves jointly and separately navigating the challenges of life\, of love\, and…other pets\, including Clancy’s “worst enemy” – one very disdainful cat. It’s a lot to keep track of\, especially when things start to spin hilariously out of control\, but fortunately\, we’ve got the observations of Clancy\, a very good dog\, who shares a valuable perspective on what is really important. \nABOUT W. BRUCE CAMERON \nW. BRUCE CAMERON is the #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of A Dog’s Purpose\, A Dog’s Way Home\, and A Dog’s Journey (all now major motion pictures)\, The Dog Master\, A Dog’s Promise\, the Puppy Tales for young readers (starting with Ellie’s Story and Bailey’s Story)\, The Dogs of Christmas\, The Midnight Plan of the Repo Man\, and others. He lives in California. \nABOUT AMY SWEEZEY\nAmy Sweezey is a meteorologist\, author\, public speaker\, and mom of 3. She spent nearly 30 years in full-time TV news before leaving in 2020 to freelance for several media companies\, including Growing Bolder and Spectrum News 13 in Orlando. \nAmy has authored two children’s books about weather\, one fiction\, and one nonfiction\, and created two weather workbooks based on the Florida state standards for science and weather. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel\, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. All attendees are also encouraged to bring their own bottles of water. \nThis program is presented by Camille Sacco and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Program Presenter \nCamille Sacco is an American Institute of Health Care Professionals Mindfulness Coach and meditation instructor.
