This workshop will provide parents and guardians with a diverse set of tools and techniques that can assist with navigating difficult conversations relating to social media use and safety. \nPresented by students enrolled in the Marriage\, Couple\, and Family Counseling track in Counselor Education at Stetson University in DeLand\, this workshop will cover topics such as: social media education\, harmful features of popular social media applications\, the importance of social connection\, establishing trust\, and how to utilize a variety of programs that monitor and ensure the safety of your children as they navigate the world of technology. Tech Talk will offer an opportunity to ask questions and learn how to broach this difficult subject with the children in your home. \nThis program is presented by Stetson University Department of Counselor Education and hosted byโ€ฏthe Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenters \nThis program will be presented by students enrolled in the Marriage\, Couple\, and Family Counseling track in Counselor Education at Stetson University in DeLand. These students are focused on learning about how significant relationships influence individual experiences and directly and indirectly affect our well-being throughout life. This program will be offered under the guidance of professor\, Jacqui Williams\, Ph.D.\, LMFT\, Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Counselor Education. The student presenters include: \nAmanda Castoire\nAmanda Castoire has five yearsโ€™ experience in Higher Education/Student Affairs\, where she refined her acumen for assisting and retaining historically marginalized\, underserved\, and underrepresented student populations. Amanda earned a B.A. in Anthropology from Rollins College where she found a passion for people and culture. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Marriage\, Couple\, and Family Counseling with an Advanced Degree in Clinical Mental Health and Play Therapy at Stetson University. As a graduate student in the Department of Counselor Education\, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge that allows her to provide compassionate\, sensitive\, and culturally competent care. \nEvan Coppelo\nEvan Copello\, M.S.\, is a final year graduate student\, studying Marriage\, Couple and Family Counseling with an advanced studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His current interest is in expanding counselor competencies and spiritually integrated psychotherapy. \nNikki Conomos\nNikki Conomos is a graduate student in the Stetson University Counseling Program. Nikki is majoring in Marriage\, Couple\, and Family Therapy with advanced studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Nikki currently works mostly with children and adolescents at a behavioral therapy agency and is also beginning her work with couples. Nikki is interested in continuing to work with children\, teens\, families\, and couples\, and have gained skills specifically working with parents. Nikki graduates this December from the Counselor Education program and is excited to continue to learn in grow in the field of counseling. \nMelanie Strembel\nMelanie Strembel is a mother and Marriage\, Couple and Family graduate student at Stetson University with an Advanced Study in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and certification in Play Therapy. For the past year she has had the pleasure of working with children\, adolescents and families through various levels of therapeutic treatment.
