In this 90-minute interactive session\, calligraphy artist Lynda Chandler will teach you the basic strokes of traditional calligraphy to create the alphabet. You’ll soon be able to use your new skills to pen heartfelt sentiments to your loved ones\, whether it’s celebrating this fall’s holidays\, get-well wishes or just a lovely card to say\, “thank you for being a friend.” Lynda will also demonstrate some common holiday phrases to help you get a head-start on your season’s greetings. This traditional form of writing is not an elegant gift to give\, but you’ll find the process of learning and practicing the strokes meditative and relaxing. Participants will receive take-home worksheets and a calligraphy pen for additional home practice. \nThis class is appropriate for both first-time students and those wishing to take their skills to the next level. Class size is limited to allow Lynda time to interact directly with individual students. If you’re unable to attend\, please consider cancelling your reservation early to allow others the opportunity to attend this popular program. \nThis program is presented by Lynda Chandler and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Program Presenter \nLynda Chandler is a calligraphy instructor who has been artistic all her life. After being introduced to calligraphy in high school\, Chandler began using her beautiful handwriting as an artform. After college\, she spent years as an architectural designer and drafter\, which required the use of a variety of pens and pencils\, which was a creative expression. Chandler creates hand-lettered art pieces for encouragement\, inspiration or to add color to someone’s space. As an instructor\, she enjoys helping people find their unique creative voice by helping them create beautiful handwritten pieces of art in their own words. \n  \n  URL:https://yourhealthandwellbeing.org/event/fall-fun-with-traditional-calligraphy/ LOCATION:Center for Health & Wellbeing\, 2005 Mizell Ave\, Winter Park\, FL\, 32792\, United States CATEGORIES:In-Person,Wholeness,WPHF ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://yourhealthandwellbeing.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/7ba378fc92b9de7f11a717ab43cf7949.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Center for Health &%3B Wellbeing":MAILTO:contact@yourhealthandwellbeing.org END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20221013T140000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20221013T153000 DTSTAMP:20250715T143533 CREATED:20220912T183341Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220912T183849Z UID:26138-1665669600-1665675000@yourhealthandwellbeing.org SUMMARY:Empowered Patient Series: Activity DESCRIPTION:Learn how to incorporate physical and mental activities into your daily life\, creating life\, sustainable habits.\n\n\nOne of the most important things you can do to improve your overall health and wellbeing is to embrace the power of education.
