They can be very therapeutic because you are literally bathed in sound waves\, where you will enter a state of deep relaxation. Sound baths help facilitate shifts in our brainwaves by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwaves can attune to. By listening to the rhythm and frequencies of the crystal bowls\, we can downshift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) where profound learning\, healing and growth can occur. \nThis sound healing experience is designed to clear and release negative energy\, open your heart\, and promote a quieter state of mind. The harmonious sounds are created to support your body’s natural healing processes while you recline on blankets and pillows. After the session\, you’ll leave feeling mentally and physically rested\, ready to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a healthy mind\, body and spirit. \nSpecial Instructions: Attendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel\, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. The IRL is an essential ecosystem\, one of the most diverse in the country. The Marine Resource Council works to improve the health and resiliency of the IRL through its science-based programming. \nThe region of the Indian River Lagoon is out of balance due to rapid development that has resulted in large-scale pollution\, which MRC refers to as SWAM: Stormwater\, Wastewater\, Air Pollution and Muck. \nDuring this month’s IDEAS Hive meeting\, learn about the MRC’s public-private science\, education and action initiatives\, how these efforts are making a difference in our community and how you can get involved to improve our waterways for future generations to enjoy. \nSpecial Note: Learning\, engaging\, and finding solutions. The monthly IDEAS Hive meetings allow experts from several different topics to educate you on environmental issues before inviting you to produce your own local solutions. \nThis program is presented by Dr. Leesa Souto and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in collaboration with IDEAS For Us. \nAbout the Program Presenters \nSince 1990\, the Marine Resource Council\, a non-profit charitable organization\, has brought together the best and brightest to address ecological issues facing the Indian River Lagoon. MRC adopted the American Assembly process of consensus-building to determine needed actions to address SWAM: Stormwater\, Wastewater\, Air Pollution and Muck. Since then\, more than 20 assemblies have been hosted by MRC. \nAssembly actions have led to the designation of the Indian River Lagoon as one of only 28 Estuaries of National Significance; led to the creation of the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program\, which produces and implements its comprehensive conservation management plan\, and called on the cities and counties in the region’s influence area to adopt Low Impact Development (LID) practices to put a LID on harmful development. Now\, Indian River Lagoon Action Assembly 2024 is underway. It will be the largest consensus assembly of its kind in a decade. Learn more about the MRC’s work\, including its public-private science\, education and action initiatives at https://savetheirl.org/about-us/our-mission/ \nAbout the Presenting Organization \nIDEAS For Us brings in experts on environmental topics and allows them to educate our audience\, equipping them with the knowledge they need to make innovative solutions to climate change.
