Each hour-long lesson will explore general body and arm positions while introducing the building blocks of ballet terminology and exercises. Classes will focus on building fluidity\, balance\, and rhythm through the fundamentals of one of the world’s best known dance forms. Perfect for beginners with or without previous ballet or dance experience. \nYou have two opportunities to attend this class\, May 2 and May 23\, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. We encourage you to attend both sessions\, giving you the opportunity in class 2 to build on what you learned in class 1\, but all are welcome to attend one\, both or either session. \nSuggested Attire: comfortable athletic or yoga clothing\, dance shoes or socks. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own water bottle to class. \nThis program is presented by Simone Boos and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:   \nSimone Boos is a native of Indianapolis and an alumna of Alma College\, where she earned dual degrees in Dance and English. Over the course of her professional performing career\, she appeared in countless productions with various theater and dance companies\, including Ballet Internationale\, Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre\, Island Moving Company\, Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre\, Third Coast Dance Company\, and RAKR Dance\, and has toured both nationally and internationally. She has over a decade of experience teaching and choreographing for aspiring dancers of all ages both here in Central Florida and throughout the US. Typically stress rises\, sleep suffers\, and if not corrected and rebalanced\, the pattern can lead to burnout and serious mental and physical health consequences. \nIn this program\, led by licensed mental health counselor Jill Hamilton Buss\, you’ll learn strategies to rebalance\, ways to manage stress and how to avoid burning yourself out. Jill will also discuss the consequences of not recognizing and rectifying when work and life are out of balance (Hint: Burnout is real and can have very real consequences.) You’ll leave with 10 tips and strategies to re-balance life when it starts to teeter and ways to manage stress and avoid burnout. \nProgram Notes: Participants should be prepared for this program with a journal or paper and a pen for note taking. \nThis program is presented by Jill Hamilton Buss and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:   \nJill Hamilton Buss is a licensed mental health counselor who works with clients in a holistic way to create optimal wellbeing for mind and body.
